Born in Victoria BC, grew up in Vancouver. Started playing around the Vancouver strip clubs in the early 1960s, and eventually into the various music club circuits in the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island and the interior.
Groups: The Blue Boys, Wicked Orange, Signals and NQR.
In 1970 the Wicked Orange were signed to Columbia Records Canada and were the first West Coast group to join the label. Alex wrote all the original songs, including the release “Roll On”. The band played throughout Canada as far as Montreal headlining and opening for many major acts of the day. The band lasted until 1976 (11 years)
NQR was a 9 piece band, who recorded a CD written by Alex.
After travelling coast to coast and back in 2013, it didn’t take long before Alex joined up with his old band mate Peter Callaway and soon Rusty Creek was born. Currently at work on their first album and making videos, his songwriting muse has come back and many new songs are happening.
